Chocolate Pixies

These are my youngest sons favorite cookies, so of course I make them every year for christmas. Not that you can’t make them any other time of the year!

1/4 cup butter, margarine or butter crisco
4 oz. (4 squares) unsweetened chocolate
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
4 eggs
powdered sugar

In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the margarine and chocolate, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
Stir in flour, sugar, nuts, baking powder, salt and eggs. Mix well.
Cover and refrigerate at least one hour for easier handling. (The dough is really gooey.)
Heat oven to 300 degrees fareneheit.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each in powdered sugar, coating heavily.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 13 to 18 minutes or until set.
Immediately remove from cookie sheets, and cool completely.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
