Why buy that stuff in a jar, when you can have this whipped out in nothing flat?
Never mind the fact that this tastes sooooooooo much better.
Here’s our ingredients:
6-oz can tomato paste
2-8oz. cans tomato sauce
1 tsp. ground oregano
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. salt (optional..I don’t think it needs it)
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. onion powder
pinch anise (if you don’t like licorice-y flavors, go ahead and leave it out)
Combine the tomato paste with the tomato sauce and stir to combine.
Add dry ingredients, stirring again.
Wait? that was it? yep, your done!
Makes about 1-1/4 cups.
Smear it all over your pizza crust, or refrigerate until ready to use. This also freezes very well.
