Preheat your oven to 350 farenheit
Our ingredient list
2 T. steak sauce (like A1)
1- 15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup ketchup
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. hot sauce (optional)
shredded cheese to your liking
*note* I don’t cook with much salt, so if this seems a bit bland, by all means add enough salt to your liking 🙂
chopped sweet peppers, olives, mushrooms, crushed red pepper flakes
(yeah, yeah, I forgot to put the ketchup and cheese in the picture. And I call myself perfect, ha!)
In a large skillet, and onion, minced garlic, and hamburger. cook till hamburger meat is browned; drain.
Add tomato sauce, ketchup, steak sauce and hot sauce if using. Simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes, until it starts to thicken a bit.
*note*I would also like to mention that at this point, you can serve this up on toasted buns and topped with cheese for sloppy joes! Pretty versatile if I do say so myself. But let’s continue with the rest of the original recipe shall we?
While your sauce is thickening, go ahead and get out your bisquick mix, and follow the directions on the box for making biscuits. Instead of making biscuits, you’re going to spray an 8×8 pan with cooking spray, and then smoosh your dough along the bottom and up the sides of the pan. (don’t forget the spray!)
A pie plate works well too.
You preheated the oven right? 350 degrees farenheit in case you forgot.
After your dough is in the pan, dump the sauce in and cover with however much cheese you want on top.
Add your additional toppings if you desire. I used crushed red peppers today.
Pop your dish into the oven uncovered, set the timer for about 20 to 25 minutes.
It’s done when the dough has turned a golden brown and the cheese is all nice and bubbly.
Take out of your oven and let sit a few minutes before cutting.
